Is Web Development a Dying Career? Is Web Development a Dying Career?

Web developers in the office

I believe one reason why this question is often asked is that obtaining a website has become much simpler and cheaper now, particularly with WordPress. Anyone with a personal computer and an internet connection can start a website or an online organization, even if they are not literate. There are templates available on the internet, and there are also bookmarking sites at reasonable rates.

So, is web development perishing as a profession? We might say that internet development as it was is dead. Yet, from a different perspective, we can look at it like this: Internet growth is changing.

Sure, it is not the way it was before. Technologies are changing, and there is a demand for developers who have experience in those new technologies. There is currently a demand for development organizations for mobile and web development teams that will be able to solve specific business requirements and build new features that cannot be accomplished with easily available templates. There is a significant demand for web programmers, so large that the supply of Western technology employees cannot adapt to it. To prove my point, outsourcing development has actually become popular throughout the years to provide startups and companies with cost-efficient solutions to their growth requirements.

The real key to success in a career in web development is to be able to adapt to the latest technologies and pick up new skills that are relevant today and highly needed today. Web development as a career will not go anywhere, as every company requires a website, a revamp, or new capabilities. But it is fast-changing and evolving, so the best strategy is always to like to learn and be quick to adapt.
